Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using ChartGPT ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free and Pro subscribers.
2. Description of Service
ChartGPT is a Google Sheets add-on that uses third-party AI APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini) to generate charts from spreadsheet data based on natural language prompts.
3. Subscription Tiers
ChartGPT offers two plans:
- Free — limited chart generations per month with a fixed AI model, at no cost.
- Pro — unlimited chart generations with access to all supported AI models. You can use your own Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini API keys. Billed monthly via Stripe. Cancel at any time.
We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice. Existing Pro subscribers will not be affected until their next renewal cycle after notice is given.
4. Payments & Refunds
Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. All charges are in US dollars.
Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused days. If you experience a billing error, contact support@chartgpt.app within 14 days.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use ChartGPT to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Upload or process data you do not own or have authorisation to process, including confidential, personally identifiable, or sensitive personal data of third parties.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair our infrastructure or the infrastructure of third-party AI providers.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without written permission.
- Circumvent usage limits (e.g., by creating multiple Free accounts to avoid the monthly cap).
6. Intellectual Property
ChartGPT and its branding, code, and design are owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The charts generated by ChartGPT using your data belong to you.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that AI-generated charts will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose. You are responsible for verifying the output of ChartGPT before using it in any business or decision-making context.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Service outages may occur due to maintenance or issues with third-party AI providers.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChartGPT and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to ChartGPT at any time if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by uninstalling the add-on and cancelling your subscription.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
